In Italy, you can speak to Telefono Amico about emotional distress and contact the Istituto Superiore di Sanità about gambling problems. Both are distinct from emergency medical assistance.
You do not need to wait until everything feels unbearable. A service can explain its scope, confidentiality and availability before you decide what to share. If a number will not connect, use its official contact page for alternatives; in immediate danger, do not wait for a helpline to reopen.
Emotional listening support in Italian. The service is free; the phone call is charged according to your operator. Check the website for current opening hours and other contact options.
Trying to win back losses, hiding spending, borrowing to play or feeling unable to stop are reasons to ask for support. If generating or checking numbers keeps the urge alive, step away from those tools too. You do not have to continue playing to demonstrate control.
Ask your Comune’s social services about immediate household needs, and your local ASL about mental health or addiction services. A SerD can be a starting point for specialist gambling care. You can ask a trusted person to accompany you.
Protect essential needs rather than keeping money aside for another bet. Bring the documents you have, ask about fees and eligibility, and seek an explanation before taking on further borrowing. A service may not be able to meet every need; ask where else it can refer you.
Jesus invites those who are burdened to come to Him (Matthew 11:28). You do not need to hide fear, shame or exhaustion when you pray. Trust in Providence is not a promise that a lottery will provide an answer; nor is receiving medical care, debt advice or public assistance a failure of faith.
If prayer is part of your life, you might pause with these words. If it is not, you are equally welcome to use every practical resource here. Seeking urgent help comes first when you are unsafe.
A prayer for the next step
Jesus, You know the weight I am carrying. Help me to protect my life and to accept the people who can walk beside me. Father, give us today our daily bread, courage to ask for help, and patience for the work that takes time. Keep me close to Your love. Amen.
